Bio

"Junque Gallery" is the culmination of a dream inspired by friendship and an undying love to play music. In 1986 (guitarist ) Stewart Mauldin(Keyboardist) Adam McKee and (saxophonist) Rick Almond would go on the road together to perform in a top forty band. After brutal lessons learned, (with the main one being you can't take a bunch of unseasoned greenhorns, fresh outta High school, take em to places they never dreamed of going, turn em loose and let em play rock star cause the song just didn't go like that!) the band returned home after a little more than three months due to misconceptions about how good they were , denial about partying habits and the typical b.s. associated with the antics and heroics of mispent youth. Its hard to imagine that those same three guys would find themselves together again after 20years, now very wise, professional, seasoned veterans and musical educators, embarking on a musical journey that has proven to be the re-emergence of one of the most dynamic and exciting bands to come along in quite some time. Teaming with the incomparable Robert Fernandez ( Bassist) Frank Poolos (Keyboardist and Trumpeteer) and Mike Poolos (drummer and primary shaper of the Junque Gallery vision), they are in production of their third cd due out in May of 2008. For this record they have acquired the services of powerhouse producer/engineer Mark Williams (Hootie and the blowfish, Joe Cocker, Kirk Franklin, and Southern culture on the skids ) This record promises to be a funk laced, in your face, down home, rythm and blues testimonial that will solidify "Junque Gallery "as a cutting edge band soon to be a household name to blues and roots music enthusiast
