I was watching the interview of an interesting woman named Sarah Chayes. She works in a co-op in Afghanistan. She makes soap out of the natural resources found there, and exports it to several nations.

During the interview she was asked whether or not she felt her situation in Afghanistan was hopeless. She strongly came back, saying that hope was irrelevant. Determination was what mattered.

From my perception, it is not that she does not need hope, or have hope- she just powerfully expressed the need to try.

Not to pretend it is anywhere near as important, but that is what I feel about what I do. I am trying. I am determined. I love music, and I am fascinated by its potential.
