Jus Cuz

Living in the age of iTunes and downloads, artists are creating innovative ways to speak to their audience. Technology has redefined music. It is through this new movement that Jus Cuz is born. Formed in 2005, Jus Cuz has been preparing for this moment for over 20 years.

Artists who dare to stand on the front line of a new movement are susceptible to the crossfire. Not only are they responsible for making good music, they indirectly become responsible for defining it. Critics and skeptics test them but Jus Cuz takes ownership of both tasks in a manner that seems effortless. Def poet, Singer and Songwriter Shanelle Gabriel, explains that, “ While people are worried about the death of Hip-Hop, Jus Cuz brings back the DEPTH of Hip-Hop. They talk about real life all while keeping your head bobbing.” This New York – Texas pair has been creating thought provoking music and compelling visuals for the past 5 years. People quickly learn that this experience can only be described as the JC effect.

Jus Cuz is family, literally. They are cousins who have “trained for battle” in different states. Adrien “A.D.” Odate was born and raised in the Bronx. Listeners quickly hear the influence of Hip-Hop’s founders but will also recognize that A.D. has created his own place as an Artist. Ernst “YOung MiScHifF” Bernard brought NY to TX and has now brought TX back to NY. Born in Queens, YOung moved to San Antonio as a child. It is here that he began his career in music, making a name for himself on college campuses and beyond. In 2005, while mourning the death of a loved one, A.D. and YOung MiScHifF realized they were both in the music business just in different parts of the world. This was the pivotal point where they discovered they had the same passions and dreams.

These two have been paramount in influencing other musical careers, while also sharpening their crafts. They have promoted, performed, and started companies, all tasks that have shown to be the road map for this exact moment. Now, they are taking their rightful place, together on stage as well as behind the scenes blessing their listeners with the JC effect.
