Bio

Nothing changes underneath the sun they say, but evolution is imminent. Almost 7 years since Jus Randy’s departure and separation from the Juno nominated underground Hip Hop sensation group BrassMunk, Jus Randy has lived a life time. From becoming a parent of two, getting married, and becoming a successful businessman Jus Randy continues his progressive approach to life. Almost immediately after the group’s breakup Jus Randy changed his moniker from May One 9 to Broadway. Working almost exclusively with producer Dub J (Elephant Man) and Frank Dukes (50 cent in house producer) he went back into the lab to keep his creative juices flowing. Jus Randy/Broadway immediately hit the radio waves with the Sumeet reggae influenced banger “Agony” who he was featured on alongside with Reggae Super Star sensation Elephant Man. After the release of “Agony” Jus Randy/Broadway hit the radio with the singles “About me” and “Get Em In Line” which both created major buzz across Canada. As the saying goes people plan and God laughs. While preparing for a major project for his music career Jus Randy was to become a father for the second time.
!
It was a major moment in his life where he really had to decide his next step; and he took a step back. “That period of my life was really rough and hectic financially especially. I was in a space that was uncomfortable and very unsure, and I needed to really fall back and restore myself and build up the right foundation for my family”. So Jus Randy had to switch up the game and be a “regular person” with a “regular job” even though he never felt “regular”. “Imagine Big Daddy Kane or Nas having to stop their musical careers and join the workforce rat race?!?” Just Randy laments. “Obviously I haven’t reached the level of success as those artists, but the feeling is still the same; your artist spirit never dies”. Through his years not being in the public eye Jus Randy has kept his skills intact and surprisingly has become even sharper as an artist; frankly he has evolved into a totally new entity as an artist. “I have so many experiences from life, so many stories to tell, so much more living to do that it has translated into my musical growth.” The sound of Jus Randy is hard to label or pinpoint because each release has taken its own place in the ever changing genre of Hip-hop.
Working almost exclusively with producer Gameboy (little brother of MC S Roc aka Richie Hennessey from BrassMunk) Jus Randy’s sound is ever changing. His first release “Enter the Room” is a boom bap hard hitting song that displays no chorus; just rhymes and a hard beat. “The song was just really a warm up single, something for people to chew on as I’ve been in the game before but I feel like a fresh artist so I’m rebuilding my sound, shaping my own genre amidst the public eye”. The single was well received by the many social media sites and blogs across the world and has received regular college radio play. His second single is a smoothed out soul influenced song featuring the songstress Natasha Waterman called “Luv Hate”. The song is just that; describing the day to day things Jus Randy loves and hates that everyone can attest too. The song has been a great success catching the attention of commercial radio across Canada. On the hinge of Jus Randy releasing his third single called “Hlidskjalf” (sounds like “Hild Skoff”) he is bubbling with excitement. I think this single will be a game changer, the song is one of kind and it shows exactly where I am going with my sound, it’s an embodiment of where Gameboy and myself have solidified our artistic connection.” With history touring with Snoop Dogg, The Beatnuts and performing across North America Jus Randy is like a hungry kid in a candy store. “I’m just thankful I have a second chance at music as many people don’t get that second window of opportunity.” “I’m going to take everything in stride and enjoy the moment as life is all about many moments added up”. Simply put Jus Randy got NEXT!
