“I put my foot down, then I stomp on the pavement,” wails rising singer-songwriter Justin Dean Thomas on “Anytime I’m Feelin'” with a subtle twang and irresistible attitude slyly evocative of early Johnny Cash.

Bright guitars scream wildly for nearly three minutes straight, given significant depth and body with a bass performance by Andy Rourke of the Smiths. This warm, nostalgic sound—something that’s seemingly extinct in contemporary music culture—was informed by Thomas’ experiences hitchhiking across America, inevitably becoming immersed in the traditions of folk, country, blues and rock ‘n’ roll.

Now living in NYC by way of Thomas’ Boston native, he’s asserted himself as a fixture of the subway performance scene, while also hustling his classic sounds in the city’s underground clubs. Thomas’ previous single, “Standing In The Door,” a more stripped-down Americana cut, was featured in James Francos’ feature film, “The Color of Time.”

Justin Dean Thomas is a NYC singer songwriter. Originally from Boston, he cut his teeth playing everywhere he could, hitchhiking his way across America and immersing himself in folk, country, rhythm & blues and rock n roll. Lending his time to poetry and songwriting, he developed a sound all his own. Living in NYC, Justin got his foray singing in the subways and clubs, while gathering momentum to work on solo material. His previous single, ‘Standing In The Door’, was featured in the movie ‘The Color Of Time’ and he now releases ‘Anytime I’m Feelin’, the lead song off his forthcoming EP (to be released late fall).
