Lyrics

Long Saturday Night

Written By: Justin Bethune

It all started out innocent enough, Hangin' at the bar with my boys catchin' up
When the clowns at the end of the bar started actin' tough;
I told the first one to chill, he said "I ain't tryin to hear it"
so i broke off my bottle to help him open his ears
then the fight spilled into the street but we made it to the car in time
and left the clowns there to meet the police

It's a long Saturday night
We ain't looking for trouble but we always seem to find it alright
It's a long Saturday night
It'll be somethin' if Sunday mornin finds us alive

All the drinkin and the fightin' and cussin made us weak, so we stopped off to get a quick bite to eat.
That's when a cop sat down at the counter right next to me
When he flashed his badge, we headed for the door,
My boys made it out but I wound up on the floor
Oh I Knew I was in trouble
cause I ain't never been arrested in a waffle house before

It's a long Saturday night
We ain't looking for trouble but we always seem to find it alright
It's a long Saturday night
It'll be somethin' if Sunday mornin finds us alive

Well I aint proud of all the things I've ever done
I'm just lookin for a good time
God knows I ain't tryin' to hurt no one
And I don't know of a man alive that likes to see his mama cry

I wound up in a cell with a woman named "Clyde" , she stood about 6'6"
and 295
she had a 5 o'clock shadow and her tattoo said "Born to Ride"
I started thinkin' really hard about my last few beers I probably should've passed don't let me pass out here;
Lord if you get me through this "I swear I'll never drink again"

It's a long Saturday night
We ain't looking for trouble but we always seem to find it alright
It's a long Saturday night
It'll be somethin' if Sunday mornin finds us alive
