When Justin Harris picked up a guitar and recorded a simple song from his bedroom he couldn’t have imagined what kind of wonders he would make.
Taking from his life’s trials and tribulations, and the experiences of those around him, Harris produces sounds that are easy on the ears.
Soft rock ballads and upbeat tempo beauties grace the pages of MySpace and Pure Volume websites.
This outstanding talent didn’t come easy for this Kentuckian.
“I had to learn that you just have to believe that you have something to offer...and that isn't an easy thing to do when you've been shy your entire life,” Harris explained.
In the song “The Story” his journey is explained through song.
“There was a time when I hated every one and every thing. I hated life. I wanted to die. Yeah, I wanted to die.” The song “The Story” states.
But through it all, this dreamy kid never lost sight of what was most important to him, his music.
“I've dreamed of being a musician since I was very young. I can remember lying in bed and listening to an Elvis Presley cassette tape (yes, I'm old, haha) at three years old,” Harris said. “Growing up I would get in front of a mirror and sing and dance to my favorite songs. It wasn't pretty!”
Recently presented with the opportunity to play in Huntington, West Virginia at The House Of David, Harris jumped on the opportunity.
“I suppose I'm looking forward to the day when I'm respected and accepted as a real artist, and when I get to travel the country. If it's God's will it will happen, and it will be amazing!” Harris stated.
According to Harris he would love to release a full CD but doesn’t have the funding to do so.
“I’m a poor boy.” He joked.
