Bio

Justin Lynch describes his fascination with music as, “An affliction. A very complicated and sublime affliction.” Whatever the reason, area and regional music fans are grateful to Mr. Lynch for the tales he weaves.

The thirty-three year old singer-songwriter has been a mainstay of the Cincinnati Music scene since his arrival in 1992. Justin’s beginnings were as a member of the house band at the Aurora Coffeehouse in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.

Since those early days, Justin has had a successful solo presence in the city, as well as garnering acclaim as the front man of the well-respected Cincinnati band, Wojo. Mr. Lynch’s resume also boasts collaborations with Filthy McNasty, Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters and Sweet Amnesia.

Justin is famous for his “local” balladeering abilities. Listeners of his works often get a history lesson into the days of yore in Cincinnati. The pinnacle of these works is the song, Seven Hills, which tells the story of Justin’s early days in Cincinnati, while highlighting the back story of the Seven Hills, much like Rome, that Cincinnati is fabled to be built upon.

Citing influences as varied as the Violent Femmes, REM and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Justin’s music crosses through many styles. Attending a Lynch show is an experience not unlike a Jeff Tweedy/John Denver/Bob Dylan sandwich, with plenty of his own voice and experiences to make it his own.
