Bio

Once a future professor of English at some overpriced American institution, there came a time during Justin Moorhead's college career when the promise of academic pursuits began to take a backseat to an innate passion for music. "I guess you could say I needed to figure out how to think before I could really sing what I felt," he explains. "It's strange, but the music has always been there; it just needed some kind of foundation to give it direction. Now I have a some stories of my own to tell."

Raised in the Dallas suburbs, the singer/songwriter inherited an appreciation for southern inspired music from a Cash-obsessed grandfather and an entire family of harmonizers and folk musicians. Their influence is hard to deny when one considers Justin's mounting collection of hardy, acoustic based tunes, propelled as they are by a diverse array of colorful and vibrant melodies. The vocals are rich, warm, and expressive, recalling the sounds of delta bluesmen from days past, while paying due tribute to surviving artists like Fats Domino, Robert Plant, and Dave Matthews. With a rather stern disregard for industry trends and standards, the Texas native has constructed a style all his own which, like the best of old tales, serves to convict, connect, and inspire.
