Justin Murphy

Justin has always had a passion for music, whether he was writing, performing or just plain listening, it has been his life addiction. Justin migrated through the garage band pub scene before forming successful Melbourne band, Heavenscent. Justin was the singer/ songwriter and driving force behind the bands commercially hard hitting sound. Justin went on to release an EP, Album, and several singles including 3 tracks on the Nickelback dvd “The road to success” with Heavenscent, the most successful being the single “Short Goodbyes” in which all the proceeds from the sales of the single went to the Bali bombing victims and in turn earning him his first minor chart success.
After sharing the stage with such legends as Billy Thorpe, Jimmy Barnes and Status Quo, Justin decided to change his direction by putting Heavenscent aside to pursue his own solo career.
After completing the finishing touches to his new pre production studio “Blue Eye Studios” Justin Murphy went straight to work, creating a sound that would capture the attention of even the hardest audiences.
Justin saw growing interest through his live shows with his new material, which showcased his knack of creating and combining a catchy, melody with his love of rock and knew that it was time to recreate that same magic in the studio.
Late 2005 saw Justin Murphy joining forces with Aria award winning producer Lindsey Gravina, the result, “Golden Shake (Everybody Knows)” an intoxicating, anthemic rock song.
“Golden Shake (Everybody Knows)” was released nationally through MGM Distribution on February 16th 2006, quickly followed by an extensive East Coast of Oz tour to support the release.
February 2006 also saw the addition of Justin Murphy to the ever growing list of successful artists endorsed by Australian Guitar manufacturer “Cole Clarke”.
Cole Clarke are committed to supplying Justin with the guitars needed for his busy live and recording schedule, prompting Australian Guitarist Magazine to immediately feature Justin in their April / May 2006 addition quoting him as “The young gun of Australian Rock”.
Since its release, "Golden Shake (Everybody Knows)" has tasted major radio airplay across Australia, giving Justin a solid basis to build on and pave the way for future releases.
Due to the success of the single and tour, Justin is committed to a August release through MGM Australia of his first solo E.P followed by a national tour to support this release

Since making the decision to pursue a solo career, Justin Murphy has been invited to play with many of the acts that he met whilst fronting Heavenscent, proving at the same time why a solo career was so inevitable
