Biography

I was born and raised in the foothills of the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. I am the youngest of three and have a very supportive Mother and Father. I have been a singer probably since I could talk. I can remember at the age of 3, being woke in the mornings by the sounds of Joy to the World and other ground breaking music. My Mom is an incredible classical singer and in the 1960s had won the Battle of the Bands. She has the most incredible collection of music from Marvin Gaye to Beethoven. When I was younger my Mom was really involved in our local church and was a member of the choir. She would sing solo pieces at church and would knock the audiences out with her breath taking voice. She would get me involved from time to time. In the 1990s I became a member of the High School Jazz Choir. In 1996 I participated in the Monterey Jazz Festival at Sea; around this time I dedicated to dedicate my life to music. After High School I moved away to be with my brother who was attending a UC. In 1996 I started writing music with a friend who is a really talented artist and guitar player. We began using computer software to record our singles. We worked together for a good 2 years perfecting our art form. In 2002 I moved to San Francisco to finish college at San Francisco State University. During this time I majored in Graphic Design and took classes in classical voice and electronic music. After college I started developing high tech rock music using state of the art musical software. I am currently building PetersenSound Productions. My Father is my biggest hero because he is honest and hard working and has always supported my dreams. He has always said that there is nothing in life you cant accomplish with hard work and a clear vision. Looks like the skies the limit!!!

Wait til I get Home

“Wait til I get Home”
Music and Lyrics by Justin Petersen Copyright 2009

(Verse 1)
When I crisscrossed and opened doors I didn’t realize that I was closing yours, you had a lot to say you were always twisting my mind. A fat moon above that night you walked into a lover’s life, I think my jaw dropped when you looked me deep in the eyes.

(Chorus)
Wait til, wait til I get home, I’ve been skating my hearts breaking without you.
Wait til, wait til I get home, I’ve been waiting hearts erasing without you.

(Verse 2)
With your green eyes and long blond hair I fell in love while you were standing there, you make my heart pound I’ll never be quite the same. And my shirt was yours that night a single rose made your green eyes shine and then you took my hand, you were always the best in my mind.

(Middle 8)
Now she’s calling what did she say? Always put a smile on my face. That’s not all, it’s not complicated no! I like to read the pages that you wrote.

(Chorus)
Wait til, wait til I get home, I’ve been skating my hearts breaking without you.
Wait til, wait til I get home, I’ve been waiting hearts erasing without you.

(Solo)

(Ending)
Just needed some space in here, just needed some space in here, I just needed some space take a look at my face! Just needed some space in here, didn’t mean that I didn’t care, I just needed some space take a look at my face! It’s all because of you, it’s all because of you, you make a big bright star in the sky and you shine so bright, and you shine so bright, and you shine so bright, and you shine so bright...
(until fade out)
