Hi. My name is Justin, and I am addicted to music. - "Hi Justin."
What started as a hobby became the front-line in my life years later. Everyone had always told me to run from it. All of my teachers, family members, friends, and just about everyone else I encountered told me that I should be more focused in my school work and that I would never get any where in music. There was never a time when I didn't feel like I had to prove something to someone else.
Self taught everything, however I believe I got my "music" genes from my father, Bill Kahler, who is a talented musician that can play a wide range of instruments. I try to listen to music outside of the genre that I am working with to inspire new ideas. Some of my biggest influnces are: Radiohead, The Roots, Mike Shinoda, Timbaland, Rocco Delucca & The Burden, The Shins, Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Kanye West, Mos Def, and BT.
I love what I do and it shows. I defiantly consider myself a unique producer. I'm very personal with the work that I do, and mold my sound to fit the artist I am working with. I'm probably the most humble person in the studio that you will meet with the balanced work ethic needed to get a session done and at its highest quality. Word spreads fast when a project falls into my hands. Sometimes its hard to believe how far I've progressed. I went from messing around with loops and putting random sounds together for fun to producing tracks for a Vanessa Williams movie and getting ASCAP royalties from a Ludacris song. Never give up on your dreams.
