"The New York Songwriter's Circle"

"Deep, beautiful arrangements, great songs, great poetry.
Having run the New York Songwriter's Circle for 13 years, I get to see alot of wonderful artists. After performing recently, Justin gave me his new CD. I was quite simply, blown away. The musicianship, the songs, the poetry and his haunting voice are just amazing. I haven't listened this much to a record in ages. I hope he reaches many ears!"
- Tina Shafer

"Stunning warmth and accessibility"

"Blending a gruff, coarse quality that will light up the eyes of Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Richie Havens, John Martyn, David Gray and Van Morrison fans, this British folk pop artist couples that rugged edge with stunning warmth and accessibility- something like a crusty old cowboy with a soft, teddy-bear heart underneath. With a knack for singable, pointed melodies that already feel familiar upon the first listen, this is music that is easy to love, easy to wrap up in the reality of your own life experience. Brilliant- don't miss out."

"Chilling!!"

It's just a matter of time before this artist is discovered. He deserves much respect in the industry and this record proves it. His songs are smart and passionate and his voice is deep and chilling. This album has left me yearning for more. - Susan Brennan

Bio

British born singer-songwriter, Justin Tracy, hit the New York music scene in 1997, and now, with the album Understanding, (produced by Grammy Award winner, Michael Leonhart in 2004) and his self produced 2nd album Suffolk Sessions, is rapidly generating buzz on the indie front.

Originally a drummer, Justin was performing and recording professionally by the age of 13. Eventually he made his way from London to New York City and it was there that his career took off. In 1997, the jazz infused Justin Tracy Group, toured all over Europe including the prestigious Montreaux, North Sea and Nice Jazz Festivals. With Justin on both drums and lead vocals, he shared the bill with such legends as James Brown, Jimmy Cliff and Earth Wind & Fire.
Currently Justin can be found performing at such New York venues as The Bitter End, The Living Room, The Knitting factory, The Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room and The Mercury Lounge. He has performed numerous times in the New York Songwriter's Circle.
