Just Like Always is a DC area rock band established in the summer of 2006. JLA reflects years of maturation and a desire to bring fun yet refined rock to music listeners.

Biography

Remember when Rock and Roll was about good times and even better music? Well, Just Like Always is one pop-rock band on a mission to remind the world one song at a time. Based out of the Washington, D.C. area, Just Like Always has started carving their own niche in the local music scene through the release of two EPs, constant gigging, radio airplay, and its uncompromising belief that rock can still be fun.

Often described as "everything that is right with rock and roll," Just Like Always' music is marked by its catchy hooks, clever lyrics, and relentless passion. Fusing today's pop-punk sound with yesterday's relaxed attitude, JLA has developed a style all of their own. Drawing from such influences that range from Green Day to Jimmy Eat World to Ben Folds to Fall Out Boy, the boys have created a sound that is fresh, but still familiar enough to make you feel like JLA has been your favorite band for years. And if the records don't convince you of this, catching a live show certainly will. With an energy level that is near impossible to match and a knack for getting the crowd involved, this is one band that will remind you that when it comes to music, the fan is just as important as the band playing it.

The band first formed in late 2005, but did not truly begin in its current form until June 2006, when newly recruited singer Charlie Hodgson, in his first performance with Just Like Always, led the band to the title of the Emergenza Festivals Best Band in Washington D.C.

Just Like Always released its first eponymous EP in Fall 2007. The self titled EP's single, Warning, was an instant hit among fans and has received regular airplay on DC101's local band show, Local Lix. Just Like Always released its sophomore effort, Down With the Ship, in Winter 2008, and has been extremely well received with local buzz and rave reviews. The first single K.I.T, has also received Local Lix airplay, and has received more than 100 plays a day on the band's MySpace profile.

In the coming months Just Like Always looks to expand its fan base and its efforts outside of the D.C. metropolitan area into Southern Virginia, New Jersey, New York and beyond.

So on the last day
You smiled my way
At least I thought so until
I saw the jock who scores
In so many more
Ways than I ever will

But you don't want to be
In this Love Isosceles

This is the last thing I ever
Want to remember
Counting the days
'Til the first of September
When you know
You are all alone

So, at the last dance
I thought I saw you wink
Turns out it was just a blink

And maybe you walk past me
Too afraid to ask me
To dance 'cause you know
That once we start we'll never stop!

You don't want to be
In this Love Isosceles

This is the last thing I ever
Want to remember
Counting the days
'Til the first of September
When you know
You are all alone

This summer will be
A long one, baby
Empty yearbooks proving
You see right through me
Like a cross-section
Science class dissection
You're tearing me apart

This is the last thing I ever
Want to remember
Counting the days
'Til the first of September
When you know
You are all alone

Wake up – Wake up!
There's no better time than right now
Break up – Break up!
Your relationship with your couch
You got – You got!
To meet me somewhere downtown
Come empty your head
Come empty your head

We got - We got!
Just the remedy that you need
Take my - Take my!
Take my hand and follow my lead
It's time - It's time!
It's time to move in tun with my feet
Live until you're dead
Live until you're dead

Listen Baby
Let's go a little crazy
I'll be the one
That's leaning on
The jukebox waiting
We can thow all our faith
Into the DJ
Whoa Oh Oh Oooh

Goodbye – Goodbye!
To the nerves that kept you quiet
You don't – You don't!
Know what's good until you try it
Who knows – Who knows!
Yeah, you just might start to like it
Come take a shot now
Take your best shot now

Drink up – Drink up!
And we'll throw a going away
Party – Party!
For every inhibition in our way
Baby – Baby!
Let the record move while we play
Don't ever stop now
Don't ever stop now

Listen Baby
Let's go a little crazy
I'll be the one
That's leaning on
The jukebox waiting
We can thow all our faith
Into the DJ
Whoa Oh Oh Oooh

We lace our shoes
With a lit fuse
We're fire on the floor
Waiting to explode

Listen to me Baby
Let's go a little crazy
I'll be the one
That's leaning on
The jukebox waiting
We can thow all our faith
Into the DJ
Whoa Oh Oh Oooh

Darlin'
I'm starting
To feel your heart beat hard and
We can dance while the sky is falling

Love the hunt but what do you want
Say one thing, mean nothing
All this talk and not a foot of walk
Something screams, you're playing me

Cause you keep keep running
While I keep keep coming
Up with nothing
And I’ve had enough of it

Chorus:
Yeah yeah yeah
Been waiting for this
Yeah yeah yeah
Your smile your
Kiss me or miss me – It’s getting boring
Chasing You: This is your warning.

You may love this; I’m sick of this
Take the blame for this game
Read you wrong or you lead me on
Either way I don’t want to play

Cause you keep keep running
While I keep keep coming
Up with nothing
And I’ve had enough of it

Chorus:
Yeah yeah yeah
Been waiting for this
Yeah yeah yeah
Your smile your
Kiss me or miss me – It’s getting boring
Chasing You: This is your warning
