"Getting to know Just Like Me"

(read the whole article and interview @ www.localmusicnetwork.com, Vol 3, Issue 1)

"Just Like Me is an experimental rock band from the Moorestown, New Jersey area with a unique sound that stand out. Their music is very easy to listen to and their groove nice......... None of the songs sound like any of the others and you can hear the progressive/rock/funk and soul influences in their music. It's a really great style fused together into its own unique sound."

Bio

Music can mirror experience, this band represents the mirror. Over the last 5 years Frank Cervantes and Troy Clark have been playing all over Philadelphia under the name "Just Like Me." Troy and Frank started writing and recording songs together at the age of 14, making homeade demos with their friends and developing experimental song structures. 10 years later and with the addition of Josh and Jay, the band has become a powerhouse in the Philly Music scene. Combining an eclectic and commanding live show with serious songwriting; this band knows how to jam and how to write good songs. Their music constantly explores the medium between improv and organization. With their first full length album under their wings, Just Like Me personifies the Do It Yourself attitude that makes and breaks great bands. Recorded and Produced by the band, this album stands as a testimonial for their artistry.
In the summer of 2007 Just Like Me independently released their first full length album “Afraid of Rock and Roll,” available for digital download on itunes and for purchase at local mom and pop records shops. Loaded with complex song structure and catchy vocal harmony play, the album received heavy rotation among the bands devoted listeners as well as high reviews from local critics. With their first full length album under their wings, Just Like Me personifies the Do It Yourself attitude that makes and breaks great bands. Recorded and Produced by the band, this album stands as a testimonial for their artistry.
A year has passed since the albums release and Just Like Me has already began work on their follow up, which is expected to be released on a label rather than independently. Currently the band is shopping tracks from the album to labels as well as playing loads of live shows in and around the tri state area. Over the past year the band has enjoyed several gigs in surrounding cities including New York, Boston, and DC. This summer the band will have a residency at Shenanigans in Sea Isle City every Thursday night starting June 19th, where they have been given the unprecedented permission to showcase original music to shore patrons rather than the usual onslaught of cover songs. This will give the band the opportunity to finish their latest album while marketing their sound to a spectrum of listeners.
