Matt Seigel is a familiar face on the southern California music scene. He is well-known as a music producer, composer, performer, sound designer, tastemaker, and professor.

Seigel recently wrote and co-produced six original songs including both the opening and finale (which has recently been placed on the 2010 Grammy List) for a major motion picture entitled Love N’ Dancing. He has remixed songs for Sony/ATV, scored a number of independent films and commercials, most recently for Honda. Along with his production team Manifest Music Productions is currently producing 3 new artists and scoring multiple video games. Seigel has written, produced, engineered, programmed, and scratched on a wide range of musical genres, with artists from all over the globe including and not limited to funk, hip-hop, symphonic, jazz, reggae, disco, rock, and many different forms of electronic.

As his alter-ego Just MATTER, he has over 11 years of professional turntable experience, spinning every genre of music while amazing crowds with his unique scratching style, seemingly effortless mixing and incredible musical knowledge that allows him to transcend genres with ease. Both as a solo performer and with his band MUDluscious he has shared the stage with many well-known artists including;
The Prodigy, Z-Trip, Qbert, Shiny Toy Guns, Lupe Fiasco, Mike Relm, Shwayze, Peanut Butter Wolf, LMFAO, Sean Kingston, Dilated Peoples, Lyrics Born, DJ Swamp, D-Styles, Kid Koala, NASA, Faust & Shortee, DJ Revolution, De La Soul and many more. He has spun events for Nike, Adidas, Verizon, Red Bull, Toyota, Trunk Ltd, Oakley, Goldenvoice, Filter (Coachella Pre-Party ’06-’09, Antics Tour ‘08), Rock & Republic, Bloomingdale’s, Agenda, ASR & Magic Trade Shows, LA Weekly (including the official Detour ’08 After-Party), Monster, Sundance, Billabong, X Games, Scion, Puma, has a clothing sponsorship with Atwater and an endorsement deal with M-Audio.

While pursuing and after graduating with a BA in Recording Arts from Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television (2004), Seigel interned for two years (2003-2004) in the Post Production Sound Department at Sony Studios.

Blessed with a tremendous work ethic, Seigel augments his busy schedule as a Professor at Scratch DJ Academy in Los Angeles, where he teaches three classes; Introduction to DJing, Mixing, and Beat-Making, for which he wrote the curriculum. Additionally, he works as chief A&R for Lasky Records (a digital distribution company) and has signed numerous acts. He demo-ed products for M-Audio and Native Instruments at NAMM and has worked with Numark/Akai/Alesis to develop new DJ and recording equipment. In his 1st season with wtnrradio.com (nominated for Internet Radio Station of the Year) Seigel’s weekly show NightVisioN was the 3rd highest rated show of the season, the highest rating for any show’s first season.

Finally, Seigel’s commitment to music and our community has led him to donate his time teaching at-risk youth as part of the “Hip-Hop Leaders” program, as well as working with charities such as For The Arts, E.P.I.C., The Tonewoods and TOMS Shoes.
