Bio

JUSTUS has a sound that combines many different elements of rock, metal, and pop. Originality, confidence, comradery, patience, determination and the unwavering support of everyone that has heard their music collectively fuel their drive for success. Their focus is on writing great music supplemented by simple and powerful lyrics that address various aspects of the human struggle - songs that can survive the test of time.

The initial concept of the band came from a chance meeting between Danny (Lead Guitar) and Karim (Bass). After a conversation about their respective influences and vision for what a band should be, they decided to start writing together and began the daunting task of finding a singer. They spent the next couple of years writing music while sifting through one demoralizing audition after another. In late 2006, a mutual longtime friend and fan introduced Tim to the guys. Tim suggested they all hang out to see if they jived as people. It quickly became apparent that they not only jived, but that Tim shared the same vision and values. A few days later Tim came in and laid down the vocals for what would become Lift Your Eyes. ‘The sinister driving guitars, big bass sound and melodic vocals on Lift Your Eyes pretty much set the tone for things to come,” recalls Tim. The rest, as they say, was history. In Tim, the band had not only found a voice but a musician and missing piece to the puzzle. The transition was seamless and Justus was born.

In 2008, the band rounded up the lineup with the talented Ari on drums after initially auditioning him the year before. Ari's determination paid off a year later when he made his second audition count. The band spent the better part of 2009 playing the Toronto circuit. Through their entertaining performances, they managed to generate a local buzz as their fan base grew with each show. They intend on hitting the studio in 2010 to record an EP.
