BAND DESCRIPTION

Juzu is a female singer-song-writer-led, indie rock-influenced outfit from TOKYO Japan!

A hard-hitting female-led four piece which launched their career in 2007 with the release of the EP "Glide" available on iTunes.

Juzu has developed a steady following across Japan with regular tours of the country.

MEMBERS

Juzu - Vocalist, guitar, songwriter: Self-actualized singer-songwriter and leader of this band, with an energetic history of touring in Japan and overseas! A serious front-woman vocalist guitar player with a flair for hard-hitting post-grunge glam, no-nonsense lyrics and having a blast on stage.



You-ki - Guitar: You-ki is a long-time collaborator with Juzu and is a professional touring musician in Japan with more than one project on the go at all times!



Tetsu - Drums: Full-time drum teacher, session musician and cymbal master, Tetsu is a hard-working session musician in the Japan rock scene, and has a long history of collaboration with Juzu and You-ki, with whom he formed the band Bakubeni.



Tomo -Bass: With a great background and a lot of eclectic connections and playing as a session musician for Japanese pop stars. He is also currently a member of Rosehip Garden!

Comment from Juzu

I released my first EP "Glide" in 2007, touring doing both band gigs and solo acoustic gigs and that is when I met Tomo, my bassist, and through him, we met You-ki and he introduced us to Tetsu!!. We are really excited about 2015 and this should be a great festival to really get our momentum going!!



Canada has a great history of strong, independent, female musicians including Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan, K.D. Lang and Joni Mitchell and many others and I am really excited to play in such a great country!
