J Wess

J Wess has been making music since the age of 10, watching his older brother write and produce music . While closely observing and mimicking his brother's techniques on how to put a production together. It wasn't until later he would take what he learned from his brother and put it to use. One year later he began to produce and write his own music. Most of his influences came from his brother and mainly the musical atmosphere that he grew up around, heavily influeced by his parents choice of music being played around the house. At the age of twelve (his brother being 15 at the time) released an album in 2005 with his brother titled Yung Don & Young Stress, written and produced by Wess and his brother Don, that was distributed through CD Baby and local stores throughout the Sacramento area, such as Tower and DimpleRecords.There was also a single released, called "None Quite LIke You",that albulm recieved local radio play on KNOZ and 102.5 several of Sacramento's many local radio stations. They were also featured in 916 magazine, based in Sacramento CA. J Wess continued on as a solo artist when his brother left for college the summer of 2006. Not knowing his next move, Wess began writing R&B along with his rap lyrics and producing his own demo, working with local talents. At the age of 17 with his brother, Young Don they formed the group I-80 and created their fan base and performed at some of Sacramento's most popular night clubs. Now at the age of 19 J Wess is currently producing and writing (daughter of Grammy nominated R&B singer Gerald Levert's daughter), Camryn Levert's very first album.
