Artist Profile: Born and raised on the Westside of Detroit, on well known Joy rd. Jay attended southwestern high school where he played basketball. Always having a love for hip hop, however not wanting to be a artist, he always had a dream to run his own record label. After Graduating high school, to escape the easy to get in trouble Detroit streets, he joined the military, traveling the world, gave him a lot of insight into how he view things. He was stationed in Washington in 2001, after getting out the military in 2004 at age 22, he decided it was time to get the record company moving. After a trip home to Detroit in October 2005, and talking his plans over with friends and family, he decided it was no more time to delay, and Upon his return to Seattle he started Mpacmuzik. He is a very unique artist, who writes from the heart and it shines through in his music. On the debut Eclectic Mix, he covers a range of topics. His music is true hip hop with a message, it is not the gangster-ridden, woman bashing, jewelry boasting, music that you hear from most artist. He is very original, with a laid-back delivery. Working with a range of producers, from Virginia to California, it is a totally intriguing sound. He is a very intelligent, well rounded artist, who is also able to make people move their feet and heads. His lyrics, and the jumping music has a knack to grab your attention and draw you in.
