Bio
J Willis started writing and playing music at a very young age on any piano he could get his hands on. At the age of seven he finally got a piano of his own and promptly started his classical training, lasting eight years. He progressed quickly, amazing friends, teachers, and family alike. Around the age of fourteen he found his tastes and ideas changing, and feeling unable to properly convey his ideas on piano, he picked up a guitar and taught himself how to play. Shortly there-after he also picked up bass and drums, starting his journey to become a one man band. By sixteen his keen ear and unrivaled work ethic landed him an opportunity to play rhythm guitar with a touring act. This would be the start of his career. He began to soak up as many influences as he could find, ranging from soul to funk, from rock to jazz, from drum and bass to middle eastern folk music, and anything out of the ordinary. The eclectic sounds he exposed himself to amazed him, and he set off to study and learn from as many styles as possible, hoping to incorporate them all in his own music. The resulting sound he produces is something largely unclassifiable, yet undeniably catchy. Some call it a harder version of funk, but that is simply, an oversimplification. This largely self-taught musician, singer, and songwriter has now mastered guitar, drums, bass, vocals, AND songwriting, and is a budding young man with high standards of professionalism and work-ethic. His ear and ability to groove in the pocket like no other makes him a menace to the music industry, and he intends to take it by storm. His goals ever celestial, his standards always high, and his talents virtually limitless, this young man promises to produce rich, intelligent, face-melting music for many years to come.
