K2S

Donald Newman (Smooth) and Jennifer Lee (Jen-E) are siblings and are among the founding members of K2S (Key to Salvation). Smooth and Jen-E were both born and raised in Los Angeles, California. While growing up, K2S dealt with the struggle of living in South Central but never bowed to the pressures of the streets.

With 14 years in the ministry, K2S has recorded four full length albums, which have sold a combined amount of 80,000 records worldwide, recorded two music videos, performed in 48 states in the U.S. and abroad in the U.K.

K2S' mission is characterized by passion, dedication, hard work and a deep commitment to delivering groundbreaking music with a message for people worldwide. Their collective goal as a group is to use their music to encourage young Christians as well as adults and to preach salvation to the unsaved, never leaving God out of the heart of their songs. K2S are firm believers in edifying the church, receiving salvation and redemption through Jesus Christ, and living no-nonsense Christian lifestyles.

The 2 time Dove Award nominated group received Dove Award nominations for both rap song of the year for "After the Rain" and rap album of the year for their Welcome to the New Era CD in 1998.

K2S has performed with artists such as P.O.D., DC TALK, THE SUPERTONES, GRITS, GOSPEL GANGSTAZ, CRYSTAL LEWIS, CHRISTAFARI, THE KRY, AUDIO ADRENALINE, JENNIFER KNAPP, BIG TENT REVIVAL, THE INSYDERZ, BLEACH, KNOWDAVERBS, VIRTUE, THE CROSS MOVEMENT, T-BONE, THIRD DAY and many, many more. K2S has also performed at many of the Christian festivals and traveled to 48 different states in 1999 alone.

With 5 years having gone by since K2S’ last release The Way It Is; K2S leaps back onto the scene with their latest upcoming release "Message Music" on their own label New Era Recordz. The 18 track "Message Music" release features guest appearances from MINISTER RMB, CONFLICT, JREMY and THE BAKA BOYZ with production from THE DYNAMIC TWINS, AMPLIFIED PRODUCTIONS, SALTYBEATZ and SMOOTH.
