Bio

Kadija Kamara spends a lot of her free time in live music bars, and shops. Observing all aspects of music, in order to perfect her fine art as a Singer-Songwriter and Composer. Mainly Soul orientated, Kadija adopted the love for world music, incorporating her passion for Jazz, Folk and Rock in all aspects of her creativity. Her influences stem from Aretha Franklin, Billy Holiday, Stevie Wonder, The Carpenters, Skunk Anansie and many more.

Having already experienced a life times worth of music as a backing vocalist and group work, Kadija Kamara decided to step to the front line, and bring all her experiences together; creating this fine art she now calls Alternative Soul. Driven by live acoustic sounds, Cajons, wind-chimes, Glockenspiels, and wood blocks, Kadija matches the sounds with her smooth melodic notes and sensuous tone, so sweet its almost edible!

Nothing is too much of a challenge, being so, she started to compose and co-produce her own music, working alongside known and up and coming producers and musicians. Since then, she has picked up playing guitar, keys. Who knows what else she will take up.

Kadija has worked with, and is currently working with a handful of great producers within the dance music scene, including Joey Negro, Mark De Clive Lowe, Zed Bias, Fanatix & Chris Samba. Within the Hip-Hop scene Theory Hazit, Sway and many more. She has also performed alongside the likes of Omar Leyfook, Silhouette Brown (Dego, Kaidi Tatham), Yolanda Brown, Lyric L (Loose Lips), Vanessa Freeman, and straight across the Atlantic with the likes of Anthony Hamilton. Kadija’s collaborations continue as she works alongside other writers and musicians within the industry.

Her debut EP entitled ‘Changes’ was digitally released on Valentine’s Day 14th February 2011 and has already fired up even more buzz within the live music scene. The 4 Track EP was written by Kadija Kamara herself, including production on Talking 2 Myself, Deeper Than This and the EP entitled track Changes. Im Endeavoured was produced by Nathan Allen, another well known musician within the Live music scene. The EP features other great talents including Winston Blissett’ ‘Massive Attack’ and ‘Del Blake’ of ‘The Neutronics’.
