Kaeli-Anne Moriah of Portland was the winner of week one's Beech Bend SuperStart singing competition.

Stars of the future are competing for season three Beech Bend Superstar singing contest. The winner on the SuperStar stage for week one was Kaeli-Anne Moriah from Portland.
Kaeli-Anne sang an original song she and her father wrote entitled, "In a Freak Show." This was her first time to compete in a contest and she is off to an awesome start!
Not only were there shining stars on board the SuperStar stage, but the judges were shining as well!
Judging the week one competition were Preshias Tomes-Harris, Brian Mansfield, and Donna Rich.
Preshias Tomes-Harris holds the position of Vice President of Artist & Industry Relations, for PCG Nashville, an artist development company in Nashville.
Brian Mansfield -- USA TODAY's Nashville correspondent -- began writing about country music for the paper in 1997 and became leader of its online American Idol community, Idol Chatter, in 2009.
Donna Rich, National Sales Manager for WGGC Country Radio Station is heavily involved with the station's 95 LIVE country concert series held at Beech Bend.
The official scorekeeper for week one was Samantha Thornton of PCG, Nashville. Samantha is a young music industry professional and currently holds the title of Artist Coordinator for PCG Nashville & Porter - Gentry Productions.
Hosting the show is Renita Cook, from 95Live WGGC. Beech Bend has partnered with 95 Live, The Goober, this season for the outstanding singing contest that showcases exceptional singing talent.
The 2010 season of Beech Bend Superstar hosted contestants from ten different states, as far away as Pennsylvania. Word is spreading that you can be discovered on Beech Bend Super Star Stage. On any given Saturday, doors of opportunity can open for any up and coming artist. Beech Bend Super Star has had the honor of hosting American Idol contestants, Regional Colgate Country Showdown winners, Nashville Star contestants, plus national, state, and county contest winners, and other singing competitions.
Last year's winner, MacKenzie Morgan, from Murfreesboro, TN, signed with Biff Bangs after the finale last season and will soon release her first CD.
Last year's runner-up, Brandy Neely, from Louisville, KY, went on to audition for American Idol in Nashville and made it to Hollywood. She was in the top 100 American Idol.
We sincerely appreciate the Nashville music industry for participating as judges and donating prizes for the show. They are all in agreement that there needs to be more places for new artists to go and perform, to create their craft, to learn, to develop their techniques and skills, and to get exposure.
The winner of Beech Bend SuperStar 2011 will receive the following prizes: VIP tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, An autographed guitar donated by PCG Nashville, a 3 day scholarship to the Nashville Music Business Camp (PCG Nashville), Show performance at Beech Bend Amusement Park in 2012, Opening act performance for a 2012 IGA, Beech Bend Park and WGGC 95Live Summer Concert.
Beech Bend is a family owned Amusement Park and Splash Lagoon Waterpark providing affordable family fun.
The Beech Bend Superstar contest is an added attraction that not only brings families together but provides family entertainment that can open many doors of opportunity for up and coming artists.

Kaeli ANNE Moriahs sound is pop/rock with its southern roots showing. Her vocals are like a blend of Mac Powel from Third Day and Ella Fitzgerald.
She has opened for Ricky Skaggs at the National Day of Prayer Nashville, played Six Flags (Chicago), and shared the stage with nashville luminaries Camille Wallin, Chris Wallin, Ira Dean, Jeffrey Steele, CJ Watson, and more. Having played everything from churches, to festivals, coffee houses, songwriter rounds, and special events, she has learned her craft well and with God's anointing connects with her audience with warmth and joy!
Kaeli-Anne grew up in the Church and at Nashville Songwriter events with the sounds of country and rock instruments all around her. She says, "Ive been involved in leading worship since I was little, and I also got to grow up right in the middle of the Nashville songwriting community. My Papa and Mama both spent a lot of time teaching me the craft of songwriting, and the importance of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I started out in Praise & Worship, and it will always be a part of what I do musically. I love the vertical in the musical equation. But I also love telling stories about life... You know, connecting with people horizontally. Showing in a song just how real Gods love and grace are. Maybe helping someone see that God does know their name and cares so much. Showing them that this Jesus, who I know, is a Saviour like no other." Vulnerable power, eyes-wide-open purity, disciplined passion, Kaeli Anne is comfortably herself!
Whether it is Praise & Worship or Christian Contemporary Music, Kaeli Anne Moriah writes and sings in a style that is fresh, quirky-fun, and just as direct as she is. The seasoned maturity of her voice belies her 20 years. Earthy brokenness can become notes as fragile as crystal in a moment, and then scorch the air with emotion.
Raised in a close knit family where ministry, prayer, and music permeates the fabric of everything from dinner table talk to work and play, it is no surprise that she decided early to pursue music as a career.
After an intense season of soul searching, she went on to answer God's specific call on her life. The call to; make loving God and people her passion, intimately knowing the Creator her pursuit, and music and prayer her ministry.
If you were to follow her on the quest for her heart's desire, you would find yourself at worship music and intercessory prayer gatherings, house concerts, coffee houses, many different denominational and non-denominational churches, and youth events.
She says, "The Body of Christ is amazing! It's breathtaking in its variety and I love it all."
