Kahlo

We knew each other from before, before falling into the hands of a guitar class, some of us on Tuesdays and others on Thursdays (1998).

Two years later (2000), our muse was born in a tragic way, the muse that prompted us to assemble into a band all that we had talked so much. He was gone, it is true, but left many writings of whom nobody knew. We still don’t know if they were meant to be poems, for us now they are our songs.

A strange situation in which we are, Waddy and his brother Johnny, Ariel and his brother Francis, accompany me to sing the poems of him, my brother.

Song after song it was emerging some style. Winning talent contests (2002, 2004) we proved the acceptance or otherwise of our ideas. While experimenting with sounds and forms to transmit a message, we used to let the time pass, maybe waiting for the maturity of the younger members.

Then, a little more awake, we decided to make public our work (2006). We dedicated ourselves to serve as openers in concerts of bands already known and to organize concerts in small bars of our city. So we reached to express our intentions in art, our commitment to the music, with Latin America and its language; and so our style of performance was developing.

Then, (2007) a step never before taken, we decided to record some of the ideas and try to be part of the local radio. This made us grow as musicians, fed our presentations and allowed us to fill us with reactions outside of our circle.

We are known as KAHLO , as a tribute and honor to Frida and her style, feelings, dramatic passion and introspective approach in art.

Kahlo (2008), already having a material composed, we spend our time understanding how it is spread the art of music and on the other hand, searching for a professional or company in the art ready to be part of the project.
