The Kai Strauss Band
The Kai Strauss Band is a new but strong force on the European roots music scene to be reckoned with. The band’s original music blends low down blues styles with contemporary grooves and gritty soul.
Bandleader and guitar player Kai Strauss founded the group after 15 years of touring all over Europe with Dallas/Tx. native Memo Gonzalez. Strauss’ new project features greasy B3 organ, fresh drum beats, intense guitar and heartfelt, soulful vocals.
„We use fuzz boxes, acoustic slide guitar, glockenspiel or even a reggae groove if that’s what the song needs. We have a great time during the song writing process and on stage. Being creative is one of the major motivations for all the band members.“
The Kai Strauss Band’s strong dedication to the blues can be heard throughout their repertoire but their experimentation with eclectic influences makes each song stand out of the ordinary.
