Bio

Bitten by the performance bug at an early age, Kaitie began dancing at the age of 3 and singing very soon after. At the age of 8, after seeing a local performance of "West Side Story", the decision was made: her future was destined to be Broadway. Since then, she has taken 5 years of classical and jazz vocal training, competing as a finalist in such events as the televised Langley Has Talent in 2011, Walnut Grove Idol (First Place Winner 2009), and BC Junior Talent Search (2011). She enjoys indie pop and folk music, taking inspiration from musicians such as Damien Rice, Tim Baker of Hey Rosetta!, and local Vancouver artist Dan Mangan. She sings as a first and leading soprano in her high school's 3 choirs (concert, chamber, and vocal jazz).

However, the dream has always been musical theatre. She has had the fortunate experience to perform as the Sour Kangaroo in "Seussical the Musical" (TITG), the Nun Chorus in "The Sound of Music" (Footlight Theatre), and Rosemary Clooney in "Steppin' Out" (TITG). Her most recent credits include her major role as beauty pageant competitor Shawn Christianson in "Smile", with Awkward Stage Productions. She has had the honour to learn from professionals such as Peter Jorgenson and Sandra Ferens in an Arts Club workshop, and only hopes to learn more and grow as a performer in the future. To Kaitie, music is more than just a passion or a pastime. Music and performing has been and will always continue to be a way of life. She will continue to strive for any opportunity presented to her, and the drive and perseverance that goes into achieving a tiny moment of spotlight will always be worth the work.
