Biography

KAKKMADDAFAKKA have been no secret in their native Norway for the past 5 years, making a name for themselves with their genre-bending sound and high energy live show. Formed in 2004 by brothers and school friends, aged between 15 and 17, they initially only intended to play 1 show at a local youth club, but due to the positive crowd response they kept going and kept the name. Since that day they have been on a relentless mission to spread their sound, which has taken them from sell-out European club tours to many of the biggest festival stages.

Their sound is as confusing as their name, taking elements from many genres such as disco, hip-hop, rock and broadway, topped with a large amount of humour and self irony. Their live show is where they have gained the most attention, with their 8 man crew, including frontman guitarist Axemax, psychedelic piano maestro Mr. Jones and 3 piece non-professional dancing troupe known as the Kakkmaddachoir.

Their international debut album, 'Hest', was released in early 2011, produced by fellow Bergen resident and long time fan, Erlend Øye (Kings Of Convenience, The Whitest Boy Alive). Their singles 'Restless' and 'Your Girl' have brought them attention from radio stations around the world and across the blogosphere, and KAKKMADDAFAKKA are set to continue their aural assault throughout 2012 and beyond.
