"Musigator 2019"

The rockabilly-mixed-with-folk-rock vibe that Kal Madsen exudes was influenced by a wide range of talent from Velvet Underground to Johnny Cash to The Ink Spots. Kalvin is creating a buzz around California with his acoustical solo gigs. Packing up his gear and guitar, he travels around the city of Los Angeles to perform his self-compositions. Tracks from Kal’s album were produced by Andy Paley. -

"Kal Madsen: Woodworker, Working Musician and Actor Ready to Rock In 50 States"

Kalvin Madsen comes from a family of actors whose work is nothing short of amazing. As to personal talent, he is a triple threat.

He has acted in a total of thirteen projects and produced two, one of which is a retrospective look at his well respected and revered father, Michael Madsen. Kalvin tends to stick to short film sequences, however, we all hope he is headed for larger and more lengthy roles in Hollywood.

His second endeavor is a woodworking business by the name of Madsen Woodwork. Although he specializes in the creation of wooden lock and jewelry boxes, his expertise is not limited to these types of items. He can also take simple pieces of wood and turn them into sensational movie set props. He offers three primary sizes with three primary price points: $200 to $300, so customers have choices on the build and budget on their orders. Within two weeks, one can possess a personalized wooden treasure done by master woodworker Mr. Madsen.

Finally, Kalvin is creating a buzz around California with his acoustical solo gigs. Packing up his gear and guitar, he travels around the city of Los Angeles to perform his self-compositions, as eager audiences are awaiting to hear his harmonies. Kalvin has also composed special songs to fit sizable or small screen films, as his melody “My Baby” is being featured in the short film, “Love’s Two Way Mirror”, scheduled for a 2018 release. To further branch out his lyrical business, he gifted some of his greatest hits to the winning filmmakers at the 2017 NYC Art is Alive Film Festival. Look for him to playing gigs in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and across all 50 states!

He is Kalvin Madsen, and he is worth the investment in attention and advocacy.

KAL MADSEN TELLS US A STORY WITH ‘CHARLOTTESVILLE SURVIVED 1945’
Posted on 2nd September 2017
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64Pov9AIsp0
Kal Madsen is a singer and songwriter with a passion for highly emotional storytelling, told (or better yet, sung) in an intimate and personal way. His recent release, “Charlottesville Survived 1945”, is a spontaneous, charismatic and memorable songs with clever lyrics at the heart of Kal’s artistic vision.

The songwriting is really on point and the lyrics are certainly a very, very important part of this experience, but make no mistake: Kal can also write music that will make an impact. This song is all about phenomenal hooks, driven energy and tuneful melodies that are thought-provoking, yet catchy, timeless and appealing. “Charlottesville Survived 1945” is a great example of socially conscious songwriting with a catchy edge. -

"Puregrain audio"

Kal Madsen, the self-titled ten-track studio recording from Los Angeles, California-based singer-songwriter Kal Madsen is due out on November 5th, and today we get to help debut the album’s folky goodness with a premiere of the video for lead single, “Filthy Rich”. The lighthearted clip, according to the artist, is “a fun and unique video that could have only been directed by the one and only Dylan Mars Greenberg. Join us as we drive around the dark streets of Hollywood and sing about a man of great wealth, but could enjoy none of its spoils.”

The rockabilly-mixed-with-folk-rock vibe that Madsen exudes was influenced by a wide range of talent from Velvet Underground to Johnny cash to The Ink Spots. Produced by twilight tunes, Madsen’s debut tackles topics spanning road trips, love, political unrest, and Hollywood. Get a pre-order in here, expect more video soon, plus some early November release show action. -

Bio

Kal Madsen is a young singer-songwriter who has been playing shows around Los Angeles and quietly dropping albums and EPs over the last few months. Inspired by artists like Lee Hazelwood and Lou Reed, Kal recorded his first album with Andy Paley, who is know for producing all the music for the sponge bob cartoons, and for his history the band The Paley Brothers. With influences like Johnny Cash, The Velvet Under Ground, and Leonard Cohen the album is made in light of 60’s-70’s music production. The album features ten tracks with themes such as road trips, love, and civil unrest. Listen for a story or two and to experience the carefully crafted production that succeeds in bringing back a refreshing mix of his inspirations.

His recent EPs were the gunslinger EP, which showcased his personal production talents as he recorded and produced all three tracks within the EP, and The Auto Bons EP was released to display the music he has been playing around with his band that is named in the EP Title. The song "Corset" from this Ep rose quickly to the top of his fans favorite songs, and has always been a crowd-pleaser at live shows. The Auto Bons are currently playing shows, the next is November 16th at the Redwood Bar in downtown Los Angeles.

The most recent release to come from Kal was his album "Bad Guys" which features 26 original acoustic songs. The album was released to display Kal's true passion in music at this time, an album of short storytelling songs that he has been writing over the last few years. The recordings are purposefully low fi, as they are mostly raw home recordings. Kal felt this is the best way to introduce these songs, as these recordings were usually made minutes after the songs were written, when he was most passionate about them. The album also carried acoustic versions of some of the songs that had been previously released with a full backing band.

Madsen is currently working on his next album which should be released sometime next year, though there will likely be smaller releases before then. Kal always has shows coming up, and to stay updated on his shows and releases its best to go to his website, Kalmadsen.com.
