Kalio Diamond

According to mass opinion R&B doesn't have the appeal that it once was sighting lack of content and passion as cause for the waning of the genre. Enter Kalio Diamond. Raised as an army brat and finally finding a place called home in Central Virginia, Kalio found his musical roots by performing and rehearsing with his friends and brothers in the Chester community they all grew up in. They all were able to rap and sing to some degree and it was then that the founder of Certified Diamond would have much bigger, serious aspirations at pursuing music. With groups such as the Jackson 5, Dru Hill, Jodeci, Boyz II Men, and countless others being strong musical influences he also wanted to be in a group and form a brotherhood of music. Out of the many groups that formed over the years Kalio finally found a combination that proved to be able to create staying power with talent and drive on one accord with each member. Certified Diamond was solidified in 2009. The group made some great strides and was beginning to gain some significant notoriety from the industry until the moment fizzled out with everyday life occurrences taking its toll on each member of the group. The group sang for Joe, opened for Chuck Brown, and received praise from Maino, and Baby Blue from Pretty Ricky to name a few. The last show performed as Certified Diamond was in 2012. After the dormancy of his group was evident Kalio fell out of love with music and contemplated on never singing again frustrated with how close he felt he was to finally reaching his dream. With attempts to get back out and rebuild, the self proclaimed King Lio lost the passion and patience to rebuild the group. With the support of his family, friends, and fans pushing him to go solo Kalio began working on new material. Now poised with a renewed since of purpose, Kalio is back with a refreshing sound of enveloping harmonies, edgy dance moves, and passionate lines all with an up to date spin ushering in what will soon be described as the new era of R&B.
