Kalisi

Entertaining the islands of Hawaii Nei since 2001, inspired singer- songwriter Kalisi (her stage name) has a local vocal style that can be best described as a mix between Rihanna and Tami Chynn.

Her performance and musical versatility ranges from Reggae to Pop, from R&B to Inspirational and from Tongan to Traditional. Her energetic stage presence magically connects her music to her fans. Blessed with a passion for the arts, her influences include Selena and The Jets. "I remember as a kid, I use to always sing along and dance to their music in front of the mirror. Those were good times!"

Born U'ilani Kalisi Tau on March 20, 1988 on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii, Kalisi was the only child. She grew up listening to all types of music and first began singing at the age of 5; when she was forced to join her church choir, the Free Church of Tonga. As a child, Kalisi would travel with her church and perform at many of their religious conferences. She later on joined the choir in her elementary school where she was trained with the Treble-Makers.

Kalisi attended Maui High School and was active in many talent related opportunities. At the age of 15 she had joined the popular Maui Reggae group, Pac Vibes. This was her first professional venture as a lead female vocalist. Two years later Kalisi realized that her destiny was bound for a solo career.
Since then, Kalisi has performed for many groups including One Inity, The Sistars, and the Keys to Creation. Kalisi has opened up for many headliners including Kymani Marley, Katchafire, Ekolu, Slightly Stoopid and many others.

Kalisis music simply reflects her life. She enjoys writing songs, and strives to become a positive influence for young people. She has performed all over Hawaii and is currently working on a new CD. Her first single, Tell Me This Is Real, was released in April 2012, and hit #1. Her new release, It Can't Get Better Than This, featuring Lia Live is still in heavy radio rotation statewide.
