Kalta Eye

Kalta Eye as we know it was born in the spring of 2006, when guitarist/vocalist Dan Klink, drummer Marc Brennan, and bassist Alex Athans decided to forge ahead after members of their old band Midnight Drives left to seek their musical fortunes elsewhere. But the seeds were planted much earlier.

Marc, a drummer with an affinity for both the highly technical and the highly groovy, had been musical partners with musical prodigy Dan since high school. They did not meet Alex until 2002, but when that happened the three musicians recognized that they had met their musical brethren. Throughout all of the line-up and name changes over the next four years, Kalta Eye was born in 2006 and hit the Boston music scene shortly thereafter, playing shows and wowing audiences with their blend of high-energy songs and virtuoso musicianship.

With influences as broad as Radiohead, The Beatles, and Faith No More to Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, and The Police, Kalta Eye fuses the bombast and grandeur of prog with the energy and ferocity of alternative and hard rock. They recorded a 4-song EP Surgery with Taylor Barefoot in the fall of 2006, and will be recording a full-length album in the near future.

Kalta Eye has played shows in the Boston area at clubs such as Bill's Bar, TT the Bear's Place, The Middle East Upstairs, and The Bullfinch Yacht Club.
