Naia is a confident and centered musician and it shows through her musical abilities. She grew up with instruments lining the walls of her family’s home and eventually taught herself to play the piano.

Naia loves to use music to unite her family, inspire and bring others together. Naia draws inspiration from musical talents of India Arie, Erykah Badu and Michael Franti whom she recently opened for. You may remember her from the hit show, The Voice?! - Manic Music Monday

The awe inspiring pop soul artist, Naia Kete, is confirmed to perform at two of the largest annual music and arts festivals in existence. First, Kete will join the star-studded line-up sharing the bill with music icon: Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Björk at this year's four day Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN June 14th. At this time, Kete will reveal her third EP in physical and digital release. Her previous two EP's are currently available on iTunes and Amazon. Next up, Kete will perform at the 2013 Outside Lands, a three-day music and arts festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park August 11th, once again sharing the bill with Paul McCartney, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nine Inch Nails. Originally from Northampton, MA, Kete currently lives in Los Angeles. The product of a musical family, she always loved using her voice to express herself from as early as age two. Musical instruments lined the walls growing up in the Kete home and eventually Naia taught herself to play the piano with her father's influence and write songs on her mother's classical guitar.

Having an innate passion for music, Naia's influences range from India Arie and Erykah Badu to Michael Franti, whom she recently opened for. By far, her greatest influence of all is the late great, Bob Marley. Says Kete about Marley, "His music, his words, what he stood for runs so deep in my soul and fuels not only my music, but who I am as a human being walking the earth." No doubt she carried these sentiments with her as a contestant on season two of NBC's "The Voice" as a member of Team Blake and making it into the Top 24 - Zoiks Online

The Voice's season 2 contestant, Naia Kete, made an appearance on AfterBuzz TV's The Voice aftershow Monday night. In her appearance, Kete talks about her favorite contestants on this season, why she still performs on the streets and discusses her new EP.

Naia on The Voice's Battle Round paring and song choice:
"For us we literally found out who our pair was, found out what the song was and then within an hour or something we were in the rehearsal..."

Naia on Sasha's performance:
"I felt like [Sasha] was singing it to her husband...It was just like I felt like she saw him standing right in front of her and she was just like expressing all of that love."

Naia on Midas Whale's performance:
"I thought it was interesting. I thought that it was a cool... It was a different version of the song which I really appreciated and respect as an artist you know. I just felt for the knockouts it's such a critical moment in the competition you really have to lay it all out there and I think maybe they relied to heavily on their arrangement of the song and vocally just nothing really happened or really jumped out at me."

Naia on her new E.P. "Fire Breather":
"I'm super excited about [Fire Breather]. I wrote a track on it with Colbie Caillat, so she's singing back up on it which is super awesome!"

Naia on why she still performs on the Third Street Promenade:
"I feel like if music is something you wanna do and it's something you're passion about, you do anything and everything you can to make it happen. And if I'm not out on the road I'm on the streets."

Naia on the inspiration behind her new single "Crazy Glue":
"There's a man in my life..we were together for 5 years and we're kind of on a break as it were right not but he's still very prominent in my life. It's just the kind of thing where if you have real love for someone you stick to them no matter what!"

Naia on her sound:
"I think of myself as kind of this...like a jazzy, pop, reggae, artist...I try and be as positive as possible in my music!"
