Kamando

Kamando is a Perth based artist and producer originally from Zambia. Growing up in the church, he got involved in youth ministry and music ministry, and his love for music began to grow. But the pull of the world began to tug on him and he slowly began to abandon his faith in his early twenties. Clubbing, drinking, girls and the party lifestyle became the norm.

His mother would try and force him to go to church, which he would reluctantly do, but his heart was elsewhere. In spite of all of this, Kamando still felt the call of God in his life and could not deny that he felt as though something was missing without God. Unbeknownst to him, God was beginning to form a foundation within his heart that would later become the building block for his return to faith.

Kamando’s younger sister began to minister to him, asking him to come back to church and wanting to see him back in relationship with God. Her words began to strike something within him and he decided it was time to go back. One week after informing his sister that he wanted to change, she suddenly passed away. Through all the grief and hopelessness, Kamando fell into the arms of God and has never looked back.

His life has changed dramatically since then. He now loves and serves God. He married the love of his life, Trace in May 2009, and had his first child, Jordan in December 2010. He has become a face for the youth of Western Australia and lives his life to bless others. He released an EP, Real Love which launched him into music ministry, and since then has released a full length album in 2012 - Holy Ghost Praise. HGP has become one of the best selling gospel album releases in Australia and has given Kamando a platform to allow his life to minister to others.
