K-Andres Born Kristopher Andres Bahamondes in Toronto, Ontario on Sept. 17th 1984. His family moved to Palm Beach County, Florida when he was five. He began singing and performing around the age of eight. He graduated from the School of Arts in 2002 and was then accepted to the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami where he would study Music Business and Entertainment Industries while continuing a focus in Classical Vocal Performance.
It was around this time Kris began writing his own music. Kris continued to write, but not often throughout his college career. In 2006, after graduating from the University of Miami, his family took a trip to Europe to visit Kris’ godfather. Upon their return Kris was stopped for examination at Customs (He was still a Canadian citizen). Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) held him for 3 hours and then told him he would have to report to an office in a month with several documents or else he would not be allowed into the country.
Kristopher reported in a month as ordered… was arrested and held in Immigration detainment in Pearsall, Texas for 3 months waiting for a chance to argue his case before a judge. Seeing the many injustices during this detainment, Kris observed, explored and wrote 30 plus songs using a pencil and paper bought from the Jail’s commissary. As a result of this experience, songs entitled “Last Train”, “Lady Lately”, and “Only if You Really Want To” were born. He is currently working on his debut CD to be released in 2010.
