Kane Sole

Kane Sole

 Melbourne, Victoria, AUS
BandPopSinger/Songwriter

toe tapping hip moving fun stuff. Songs with substance but easily accessible. Think Jack Johnson/Jason Mraz/Tracey Chapman...

Biography

Kane Sole has always had a close affinity with the ocean, and well could be expected. Raised on NZ's rugged West-Coast beaches, it is a constant source of inspiration for his music.
Uncomplicated, catchy, soul filled songs narrate the daily grind.

Fast forward to 2009.

Throw in some music studies, a pinch of international travel, loads of ups, and a few too many downs. Kane has set up base in Melbourne, Australia.
Gigging regularly with his band, and soaking up Melbourne’s thriving music scene, Kane is now on the cusp of his debut album “Tree Little Words – due for release summer 2010.
September sees the release of his Single, and uplifting little bbq accompaniment, “Walk Like That. The b-side to the single is “We Went Cold which gives a little more insight into the album, and is a fine display of the growing chemistry between Kane and his percussionist Ms Sunshine.

Apples Fall

Written By: Kane Sole

Apples Fall

Apples fall like they use to, but the swing don’t move here any more
I swear I hear the wind calling your name
Or Is it just this yearning I’ve got, playing with me?

The gate’s been closed for a while,
Yeah I can see that, by the way the lock’s been rusted on
And it’s gone swinged it’s last swing
‘cause the hinges on the left side are worn, yeah they’re well worn

Um diddy

When minds think alike, like ours did
Living on a whim, never wanting no more
Well it pains me to go on, so different
Without you by my side, anymore

Um diddy

What's Your Name

Written By: Kane Sole

What’s Your Name

Grip tight the clif face high above the rough water down below
I know it’s time to see things through
Cut short the voice inside that says “you’re not man enough for this”
Rise above this uneasiness

Hello what’s your name? where you going and where’ve you been?
I would like to sit here for a while with you, and just talk the night away

Eyes stare, judging, I’m aware
But why feel the need to care,
‘cause half the time they’re not even there…looking at you
and oh, know, if you choose to throw yourself into the unknown
you better keep in mind what lies below, ‘cause it could bite you

Hello what’s your name? where you going and where’ve you been?
I would like to sit here for a while with you, and just talk the night away

Her hand strokes the glass while I stand looking on
I ask myself why can’t I just step forward?
But hold on, without warning, she gets up and walks toward me
Oh my god I thin I’m gonna die…and then she says to me

Hello what’s your name? where you going and where’ve you been?
I would like to sit here for a while with you, and just talk the night away

We Went Cold

Written By: Kane Sole

Left myself on a burnt out shelf, but despite the embers I’m cold
One little book was all it took to make these events here unfold
See, the lock was open in a mouth that’s calling, but the voice inside me said no
Leave it be you don’t need to see, and the words don’t need to be told

Babe we went cold

Well I took a match and I struck a patch, and the light around me done glowed
The heat was rising with the smoke in my eyes, but despite the flames I was cold
See a man with a match in his hand can cause havoc when the world he knows has been sold
Panning for gold in a river of silver, and all he’s left with is coal

Babe we went cold
