Bio

Long before Kangaroo Jones blew the roof off its first venue in 1993, Brian Riback had written the song, "Wait You'll See" (The only Jewish kid in town who was more interested in gospel artists like Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers or the Mississippi Mass Choir than anything on the radio). When Brian was introduced to guitarist Steve Lefkow, the two gelled immediately. They began to write song after song before they even had a band. It was interesting watching Brian's R&B influences blend with Steve's pop/rock sensibilities.

The two joined forces with other musicians and performed throughout the NY area, but over the years saw band members come and go until guitarist Chris Richmond solidified Kangaroo Jones' core trio. A few years later, the crew met Joe Dubbiosi, a Julliard graduate with amazing bass guitar and violin skills. The group is complemented by the Marsupial Horns featuring sax, trumpet and trombone. Behind the kit is Reggie Gamble. In 2008, Kangaroo Jones achieved one of their biggest dreams when they recorded their first album, "Are We There Yet," a unique blend of R&B, funk, rock and pop.

Kangaroo Jones brings to each show an unparalleled level of energy, a passion that shines through with every note, and a sound that will guarantee each fan will experience "That night you've wanted to remember for a long time."
