"Lee Underwood"

"Heartfelt songs, terrific singing, well-composed and arranged music, and right in the ball park for radio play."
- Lee Underwood, Tim Buckley guitarist

"Lorca Simons review"

"High energy beats, raw guitar riffs, driving vocals and cool songs." - Lorca Simons, Actress

"Will Lerner - Val Holler "Versicle" review"

Holler has a voice that has a plaintive, searching quality that proves hard to resist the more you listen to his music. Shimmering acoustic guitars play progressions both familiar and surprising over Hip-Hop-inspired drumbeats while electric guitars add to the atmosphere. - LISTEN.Com

"Edward H. King - Val Holler"

It is root music with lyrical structure that has a message in each verse. A great writer and performer, this man is going far.... - CWC News

"Cowboy Surfer - Val Holler "Versicle" review"

The CD has a nice down home feel to it. It's a CD you can sit down and relax to with a quirky insightfulness and peaceful emotion. Holler's approach is similar to say Tom Waits, but in his own way. Especially on 'Blue-Eyed Soul' and 'Ten Miles to Bliss' which is a Waits style hoe down you can kick your heels to. On 'Solitude for Two,' he stretches out in a jazzier mode and 'Midlight' features a nice flute accompaniment. 'Soma Tea' puts it all into perspective and leaves you wanting more." - Seedless Records

"A record deserving a wide audience"

"This is indeed a fine record, full of varying moods and textures, while keeping a firm hand on its Rock and Roll identity. "Wheels" is a song that could have been written by a young Brian Wilson, if he had only grown up nearer the Pasadena that is in Texas, rather than the one that is in California."
- Robert A. Sharp, Jr., Amazon.com (Jul 15, 2008) - Amazon.com

"Approaching perfection"

"One of the best indie recordings to hit the market for 2008… a roadhouse riot with loud, pumping guitars and thunder drums churning up a frothy soundscape. The vocal stylings pay homage to great rockers of the 1950's. Image a pissed off Roy Orbison wailing away after a peyote binge."
- David H. Ruisard, Amazon.com (Jul 10, 2008) - Amazon.com

"'Sweet But Sour' sounds like..."

"'Sweet But Sour' sounds like Bowie and Ian Hunter jamming ‘Synchronicity II’ with Frank Zappa writing the arrangement. That’s my favorite.”
- Dan Workman, Sugar Hill Studios - n/a
