One local band has been generating alot of buzz lately in the area with their heavy hitting style of music which they refer to as "sick-hop". The band is Kaos Katalyst. A six piece rap/metal band from Rockford,IL. After hosting one of the biggest local shows the city has seen for the bands cd release party, I think these guys just might be on to something here. Founded in 2008 in the 3rd worst city in the U.S.A. Comes a band like you've never heard before; emo-kids run and hide, fake-ass thugs beware... In an age where musical originality and integrity are replaced with image and fashion sense, come 6 musicians. Hailing from Rockford Illinois, Kaos Katalyst is a melting pot of styles and influences ranging from old school hip hop to hardcore to thrash metal with plenty in between. Each member brings forth their own original sound and the synchronized result is a strong versatile force sure to turn heads. Machine gun like lyrical flow over thrash infected grooves and technical double bass rythms provide plenty persuasion to keep heads banging and pits brutal. As if that wasn't enough Their live show is a twisted high energy thrill ride that must be experienced to be believed. Their forthcoming 9 song LP "The Fallen". set to release July 24th will serve as a taste to listeners of the oncoming tempest that is Kaos Katalyst.
