Bio

Devon Soto was born in Christiansted and raised in Fredriksted of St. Croix U.S.V.I. Devon grew up listening to all genres of music and as he grew older music became an outlet for him. Taking it up as a hobby, Devon played around with different styles of music, fine tuning his craft and discovering his nitch as an artist and Yung Kapo was born.

Later on Yung Kapo met the founder and CEO of Only Dollars Count Ent., and that gave him the opportunity for free studio sessions through Beneath Da Underground Productions. BDU provided original beats and opened the door for him to do a compilation album, Outhouse Vol. 1; with features of local artists such as Vaughn of the MidNite Band, Mugzee and Fya Angel. From this album Yung Kapo’s song “Killing Me” hit the top 100 songs in rotation on ISLE 95 radio station for 20 straight weeks. Soon after he would have his first performance, opening a show for De Apostle at Hotel on the Cay.

Yung Kapo was introduced to CEO of LP Records at St. Croix’s 1st Annual Tempo. After meeting him, he was offered to work with various producers like Jay Talent, Bosco and Aagee. LP Records boosted Yung Kapo’s career by booking shows and working on projects such as Island Heat 1 & 2 and his first mixtape, The Korleone Familia, which sold numerous copies.

Yung Kapo moved to New York to broaden his career and education. While continuing his music he volunteered his free time to a Catholic School in Staten Island to coach basketball. During this time he met and become good friends with Aaron Bell better known as Bentley Bell, another aspiring artist. With the same drive Bentley Bell and Yung Kapo joined their talents together. Soon after they released Marijuana Music which was unsuccessful, but that didn’t stop them from pushing forward.
Yung Kapo also continues to release his music as an independent artist. He has continued on to Seven more mixtapes as a solo artist under his new name "Kapo Di’Kaprio" ; Shutter Island ( The Story of Kapo Di’Caprio), Port of S.I.
