Bio

KIDS AT RISK sneaked up up on the national music scene in 2010 with their self-titled EP (distributed nationally through MGM). Touring extensively, the outfit stages with the likes of Deep Sea Arcade, Tom Ugly and NZ rock juggernauts, The Checks.

They went on to further collaborate with local music contemporaries Danimals, Convaire and Bon Chat, Bon Rat to digitally release a remix EP of their previous works.

The band were formally Unearthed by national youth radio network, Triple J and went on to win the opportunity for NIDA students to create a music video clip for them.

In 2011 the band were approached to assist with compiling the score and soundtrack to indie feature film, Griff The Invisible (featuring Ryan Kwanten from True Blood). The film was hand-picked to feature in Toronto Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival and Adelaide Film Festival with the feedback being that the soundtrack “made the film”.

In July 2011, KIDS AT RISK were the recipients of a grant from the Arts Council of Australia which helped them get over the USA to play shows in San Diego, LA and New York. The band were given glowing reviews from US media and have a fast growing fanbase in the US and Europe.

The band are now recording their new record, due for release early 2012.
