I am a singer/ songwriter who grew up in the Midwest - Wisconsin to be exact and now live in Berlin.
Kara Johnstad´s latest CD "Paths X showcases her talents as a songwriter. A wonderfully silky blend of jazz , folk, and soul. Kara Johnstad´s "exceptionally outstanding voice" (Jazzdimensions) has all the colors of the rainbow. One of the most versatile voices of our time, her voice has an inspiring range and tons of soul and personality: As a singer / songwriter: she writes great, compelling songs and performs them in the best way possible. This jazz / soul vocalist knows how to sing! Poetic and touchingly pure, she is supported by top internationally renowned musicians and remains true to her self: effortlessly blending different genres.
In 2007 Kara created her own radio show called the ESSENCE, a 2 1/2 hour program dedicated to every kind of music that is high quality, pure and authentic. Once again she beautifully blends world music, jazz, meditation, film, ambient, singer/songwriter and soul. Taking us on a magical journey where we discover with her new unknown top artists and re-discover some of the worlds greatist artists. Within two months of being on air, the show went into syndication. The ESSENCE RADIO SHOW airs weekly and can be heard 24 hours a day, seven days a week through archives at www.globalvortexradio.com, www.bbsradio.com and soon to come to REDDOG MEDIAS station based in Paris, France.

Kara Johnstad, Chanteuse auteur compositeur, a grandi dans le midwest des USA plus précisément dans le Wisconsin.
Elle vit maintenant à Berlin en Allemagne.
Elle met en évidence ses talents dauteur compositeur dans son dernier CD « Paths X », harmonieux melange de jazz, de Folk et de soul. «Kara : voix exceptionnelle et remarquable» (Jazz dimensions). Cette voix possede toutes les couleurs de larc-en-ciel. Cest lune des plus belles de notre epoque. Elle peut tout chanter avec le meme bonheur. Une fois encore elle excelle dans tous les genres : jazz, meditation, musique de film, ambient, soul musique Elle nous offre un voyage merveilleux où nous découvrons de nouveaux artistes, inconnus et redecouvrons certains grands artistes du passé. Apres quelques mois de diffusion sur internet, « lESSENCE SHOW « est multidiffuse 24 heures sur 24, 7 jours sur 7 sur les archives de www.globalvortexradio.com, www.bbsradio.com et aussi sur KANAL RADIO SHOW, web Radio channel de REDDOG MEDIAS (www.myspace.com/reddogmedias) basee à Paris, France.

Kara a aussi collabore a la réalisation et a linterprétation dun certain nombre dalbums : Take my heart » pour lArtiste New Age GAMBHERRA sur le titre Colors the summer sky pour Tiger Forest Sounds of life CD.
Elle a aussi ecrit les textes dun album pour le groupe pop/rock allemand FORTUNATE FOOLS. Actuellement 2 titres sont diffuses en promotion sur la chaîne de séries TV allemande GUTE ZEITEN, SCHLECHTE ZEITEN.
