KareemaBee

KareemaBee is a poet/filmmaker from New York and currently resides in LA.

She began her spoken word journey as a teenager, writing and performing in musicals sponsored by the NYC Housing Authority. This landed her on the stages of places like the Fashion Institute of Technology and as a lead act during events for NYC Parks & Recreation. She would also win first place in the 'Bronx Idol" talent competition, and represent her school at poetry symposiums.

Her love for spoken word continued as a student of the University at Albany where she won a poetry slam hosted by Def Poetry Jam artist Mayda Del Valle. She continued to lend her writing and spoken word skills as a member of Capital District troupe called Too Deep Entertainment, where she also graced the stages of The Palace Theatre and Steamer 10.

As a graduate student at Syracuse University, Kareema learned to translate her poetry to film, and later served as a artist-in-residence in places like France and Martha's Vineyard. For more, visit www.kareemabeeonline.com .
