Bio

A Native New Yorker, Kareem Grew Up in Far Rockaway, Queens. Kareem Has Worked Extensively On Perfecting His Craft.
When He Was 21 Kareem Got His Professional Start Performed On The Television Show "Harold Ousley And A Circle Of Friends" With
World renown Tenor Saxophonist Harold Ousley, Featured On The Show Was Jazz Greats Sonny Rollins, Lionel Hampton, G. Earl Grice,
And Other Jazz Greats.

Shortly after that Kareem joined The "The Theatre for The New City" Where He Played Sax and Keyboards foror several Street Theatre Performances, Including "Including Bio-Tech" And "CODE ORANGE: On the M15" Which Showcased Throughout The 5 Boroughs. He also landed an acting and playing gig In the musical
"The Dance" And Prequel To The Broadway Hit "Bring in' Da Noise, Bring in' Da Funk" where he played the role of "Motzey" the Comic Relief Musician For The Dance Studio.

Kareem got another break when he joined New York City's Funkiest Band Milo Z. He appeared With Milo Z on NBC's "Last Call With Carson Daly" and performed at NYC's famous B.B. Kings Blues Club, while still Touring with the group.

Kareem also performs with Blues legend Moe Holmes at Terra Blues.

He is a part of Last Tribe NYC With Blues
Great Jason Rosen, and has also performed With other Blues, Funk And Rock artists such as Joss Stone, Cyndi Lauper, Gavin DeGraw, Jerry Dugger,
Jimmy Walker, Shareef Clayton. He is the featured Saxophonist with the local New York City group Positive N-ergy Feat. Lynne Watson, and the Pop/Soul Group Essance. He also worked
as the Saxophonist for Brooklyn's "West Baptist Church" where he used his talent to help spread the Gospel through Music all around the New York City area.

What's Next For Kareem Walkes :
Kareem Walkes Is Now Fronting His Own Band With Shows Starting February 2006 At The Baggot Inn.
He Also Has 3 Albums In The Works : A Gospel Album, A Smooth Jazz/Funk Album And A Holiday Album.

Kareem Has Been Called "The Black Kenny G" For his smooth Soprano Sounds, and "Lil Maceo" For his funky style of alto playing.
