Bio
Karen, a singer, songwriter and fiddle player is a coal miner's daughter from Southwest Virginia, who grew up listening to country music. The influence of hours spent listening to the radio to Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams and other country greats is evident in her original songs which continue and preserve that early country style.
Karen's recent CD, "Backroads & Bayous" which reflects her two musical passions, early country music and traditional Cajun music, is receiving enthusiastic reviews in the US and in Europe.

She is fiddler and vocalist with the award winning Cajun band, Squeeze Bayou and also plays and sings in the popular acoustic country quartet, The Blue Moon Cowgirls and the classic country honky tonk Backroads Band. Karen also appears performing her original songs in a duo with WAMMIE award winning instrumentalist Ira Gitlin.
