Bio
Karen's original songs chronicle the convolutions of the modern world in a style that is both humorous and revelatory. Exposure to unique and authentic blues musicians through Music Maker Relief and Recording Foundation is apparent in her music. Karen started performing in 1998 with the Back Alley Jug Band (Bill Barth, Sam Duffy, Karen Duffy and Luke Wurmli) in Amsterdam, NL until Bill's death in 2000. Karen played in NYC's varied venue's focusing on old time, bluegrass, and traditional music with Sam Duffy as an acoustic duo. Currently a solo act, Karen highlights her songwriting skills in a live show which features original roots music, idiosyncratic country blues, and select obscure covers.
