Bio

"An Americana singer songwriter in the realm of creativity as Cheryl Wheeler, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, James Taylor and Carole King."-Metro Pulse Magazine

An Award winning singer songwriter, Karen E. Reynolds has performed at many prestigious festivals (Frank Brown Int'l Songwriter's Festival, the Mississippi Songwriter's Festival, Jammin At Hippie Jack's, the National Shrimp Festival, the Kent State Folk Fest and many, many more), and is a regular at premier venues such as Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta and Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe. She has shared stages and performance billing with some of the best in the business and has received national recognition for both her songwriting and her voice. The press labels her as, "A consummate performer who can command any audience", and with almost conflicting descriptions, calling her “hearty voiced” one moment and claiming her to have the “voice of an angel” the next, but they all agree, "she can sing and, boy, can this girl craft a hook." From heartbreak to humor, Reynolds clearly enjoys the diversity of her audience and her songs often have a message mixed in amongst the tears and laughter. Her lyrics level the playing field of human differences, addressing everything from social issues to private demons and cross boundaries as mainstream and alternative in the very same moment.

Equally as versatile on the business side of music, Karen is host/program director for Writer's Block, a world wide radio program, teaches songwriting and music business, operates a career consultation agency serving independent artists and is a mentor/instructor in the ‘Words & Music In Schools’ program for the Country Music Hall of Fame. Karen has national credits to her name as a producer, publicist and promoter and recently served as the Director of Education for 'We R Indie', a non-profit organization providing education and visibility for the independent artist, where she still serves on the advisory board. Karen has served on the faculty of the Tennessee Mountain Writers Conference, as well as, the Young Writers Institute at Univ of Tennessee, is a frequent speaker at music industry events and regularly teaches workshops for a variety of national music conferences, festivals and songwriting associations in the Eastern and Southern United States.

Karen signed a publishing agreement in 2007 which brought attention from both independent and major labels. She now has a variety of publishing arrangements and has chalked up a list of independent cuts. Karen regularly performs at a variety of venues, festivals, colleges, select concert series' and house concerts, either solo or with her band, SanctiFried. She has four releases of her own to date and her newest, the critically acclaimed, ‘Read The Book,’ is receiving airplay nationwide and abroad.
