The Cap'n and the Red Queen

Written By: Karen Kelm

The Cap’n and the Red Queen sailed upon the water

Crying for the land they loved, a place where they could belong

The Cap’n and the Red Queen had two sons and a daughter

Safe upon the rolling sea they made the world their song

And they sailed, and they rode the waves together

And they sailed through the calm and stormy weather

And they sailed away their sorrows

And for all of their tomorrows they will sail

The Cap’n and the Red Queen sailed into a new day
Walked upon the land they loved, beneath a different star
He would sing her love songs, she would stand and just sway
Floating on the melody of his soft guitar

The Cap’n and the Red Queen sailed into a harbour
Forty days and forty nights, forty years slipped away
She was still his one love, he her knight in armour
Keeping all their fantasies rolling on the waves
