Influences:George Benson, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Cleo Lane, Merle Staves (mum's stage name!), Tina Arena, Julie Andrews, Kate Cebrano.
Karen M Kennedy had the desire to sing from the age of 5. At 13 she had her chance to do just that on a kids TV show called "Perth's Young Entertainers", long before Australian Idol was cool.
She won, went into the finals, and was asked by the producer to be a part of the regular line up of guest vocalists (the start of her first paying gigs-and on TV!)
She worked with Channel 9 Perth for 2 1/2 years gaining lots of great professional experience including in the recording studio.
After Karen finished highschool she enjoyed pursuing lots of facets in Perth's entertainment industry including Dinner Theater, Musical Theater, Voice-Overs and Jingles, and Top 40 Cover Band work.
A green-card lottery brought her to the US in 1995, and in 2006 she released her debut Indie CCM CD titled BE THERE produced by Rich Webb at New Threads productions in Lake Arrowhead CA.
