Kari Amirian has imagination, great songs, unique sound ideas and courage to follow her own way. Her delicate, velvet voice plays the main part in her music but a fascinating sonic microcosmos opens up around her. Kari’s music is embraced by a cold Scandinavian aura and warmed by Slavic melancholy.

Newcomer singer/songwriter Kari Amirian is among the most buzzed about artists to emerge in recent
months in Poland. Known to the broader public from her work with Norwegian electro-pop star Royksopp,
Kari eventually produced and released her first solo work.

Her ravishing debut album “Daddy Says I’m Special” (Nextpop / EMI Music) released on December, 2011
gained a nationwide acclaim among the critics and MySpace, YouTube, Last FM and Facebook listeners.

Kari’s music described mainly as indie-pop, brings a new distinguished flavour to the table, joining today’s
most cherished indie artists like Bjork, Lykke Li, Feist or Florence And The Machine.

Being a classically educated musician, Kari herself mentions artists like Arvo Part, Philip Glass and Steve
Reich as her early influences in her instrumental works, along with Stina Nordenstam in her early singing/

“Daddy Says I’m Special” has a wonderfully crafted sound and breathtaking moments to remember, like
the chorus in “The Winter Is Back”, intro in “Stronghold” or the outstanding arrangement in “Anew”, where
her talent as a composer, arranger and singer reveals its full richness.

Kari’s band consists of five young multi-instrumentalists playing the acoustic guitars, cello, Q-chord,
acoustic bass, drums, glockenspiel, tongue drum, bass guitar, percussion and keyboards, with Kari
herself on the piano and vocal electronics.

The increasing number of live dates throughout this spring, summer and fall will bring Kari Amirian and
her amazingly sounding band to the fans in Poland and Europe.
